I just came across the Amish Heaters! Whoa, is this for real? I actually found a number of reviews about it so it seems like the real thing. Apparently some folks bought it, a lot of them really liked it.
Basically it is a fancy Amish mantle which comes with an electric heater … right? Because you don't need a chimney and it is a fireless flame fireplace, right? Er, why do they call it a miracle heater? It's using electricity so … is there something wrong with admitting that it is an electric heater kitted out in a nicely-made mantle? Hey, I agree with you on the 'no smoke, no vent' statements but let's just back up there on the cost-cutting bit. Seriously, if this is using electricity, surely your bill will go up at the end of the month? And it's not exactly saving you money, surely?
Looks like someone came up with a nice parody for this product. Check it out here. Ooh, must warn you, it can be a bit blunt at times. However, you got to love how they throws in 'Now with Windows 7' to the ad. Well, these guys do have a point. If the makers of these heaters, presumably Amish folks, shun modern technology, surely this product sort of violates that code? By the way, did I mention that the heater is only available from certain sources and can't be found in stores? Sort of drives home that previous point, doesn't it?
