AromaTrim: Strange and Unusual Sniffing Device

Did someone really make this ad? Er, you really expect me to believe this? First things first. Some folks created a product called AromaTrim that will cut down on cravings. Well, all good and well. We need more products like that, lots of folks are worried about weight and heart disease and other ailments. Yes, that's what I thought before I started watching this video.

How does this product work? Turns out, you take one of these plastic pieces and shove it under your nose whenever you get a craving. So you have promoters for this product, walking around town, waving these aroma pieces under folks' noses. And in each case, everyone grimaced and said something along the lines of 'Oh my, I could never finish this now'.

Er, Right! Firstly, how is that different from any other readily available stink-producing object lying around the house? Why do I have to dish out money for this particular product? I could just take a sniff from the cat litter when it's doing its business, if that's all you need to do for appetite suppression.

Secondly, I am amused at what is left unsaid. Sure, the product might work. But aren't you assuming a lot when you think that we're going to whip out one of these pieces every time we get a craving? If I want a snack and I know I shouldn't indulge, what do you think I am most likely to do? Sniff AromaTrim or conveniently forget where it is located while I grab those tasty chips? Look, if people were that dedicated that they would use such a piece every time they got cravings, then they might as well use that surge of willpower to walk over to the gym. Just saying …
