We should call it – 'Things you shouldn't do on TV'. Especially if you are advertising a questionable product. Don't get me wrong. The Flex-o-Ladder idea was a workable concept. But including advert bloopers as part of the sales pitch chases away any good impressions.

The informercial is for this strange contraption called Flex-o-Ladder. Check it out. It looks like two small ladders joined arms in the middle to give you a safe little plateau. You know, a place where yo can climb up, prop down that bucket of paint and swish your paintbrush while standing confidently on this bridge.

Now, the question dashing through on any sane person's mind is this – is that really that secure? I mean can it hold a person's weight? Isn't it flimsy? Yes, as so cleverly demonstrated by the presenter the ladder was a tad flimsy. And yes, the whole thing could fall in one big heap with you doing a faceplant onto its hard metallic joints. Ouch! Apparently if it's locked in place, it's all good. I could have been convinced if that poor guy had not down a sad little dive. By the way, if you search within the classifieds, turns out you can buy this ladder. Seriously!

There is a point in the advert when the guy stops at the top of the ladder and stares at the screen. I wonder if it was a silent plea saying 'Do you really want me to do this'? Maybe he was only getting paid if he walked the walk as well as talked the talk. By the way, am I the only one wondering why he continued to crawl across despite the initial folding? Why didn't he just step back and lock it in place properly? For goodness sake, why didn't someone just retake this whole scene?
