Santo Gold

When does the nightmare begin? When you realize this is an actual infomercial that was aired? Or when you realize that someone out there actually made the movie, Blood Circus? No, I got it. It's when you realize there is a person called Santo Gold! Yikes.

But honestly, what is with this ad?! I came across this on Infomercial Hell and I can see why it got such an unforgiving review. See, this infomercial is trying to sell gold jewelery. Maybe making you look like the neighborhood pimp. So why, oh why, did they include clips from a wrestling movie, Blood Circus, in this clip? It gets better. Apparently Santo Gold (the one endorsing the ads maybe) makes an appearance in the movie. And so? Exactly. I checked the IMDB page. Turns out, this is about aliens who are looking for professional wrestlers. Or something to that effect. Perhaps I should add that to my cheesy horror movie list. 

Speaking of imdb, check out the comments for this movie. A number of people say that they worked on the movie. I am wondering if these are follow-ups ala the three wolf t-shirt. Could be so but I did laugh at the last comment. Did they really have a baby picture during the end credits?

One more fun fact before I finish ranting about this infomercial. You know the Santo Gold mentioned in the ad? I looked him up on Wikipedia however it doesn't seem like he has his own page. No surprise there. However, there was a female singer called Santogold who later became Santigold because, get this, that bloke from the Circus flick/infomercial was iffy about her using his name.
